Williams-Farmer outpace GOP opponents in latest finance report

Williams-Farmer lead the GOP field in fund-raising

FRANKFORT — Senate President David Williams and running mate Richie Farmer raised nearly $77,000 during the latest reporting period and have banked more than $1.2 million in the Republican primary race for governor.

They raised $76,934 from April 16 to May 2 and have $206,511 going into the May 17 primary, according to reports with the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance.

Bobbie Holsclaw, the Jefferson County clerk, and her running mate, Navy veteran Bill Vermillion Jr., reported raising $3,925 during the same period. They have raised $26,669 during the campaign and have $12,647 on hand.

Louisville businessman Phil Moffett and running mate Mike Harmon, a state representative, have not filed their 15-day pre-election report. The reports are due Monday.

Democratic Gov. Steve Beshear is running unopposed in the May 17 primary. He and former Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson reported raising $222,484 during the same period. Beshear has raised more than $5 million for this campaign and has nearly $3.2 million on hand.
