Some Kentucky state employees got a day off work Tuesday as some Frankfort offices were closed over electrical troubles.
The Finance and Administration Cabinet said the Frankfort Capital Plaza Tower and Fountain Plaza Shops were closed after a transformer failed overnight. Repairs were under way.
Meanwhile, employees were told not to go to work and urged to contact their supervisors if possible.
A public Kentucky Board of Education study session scheduled at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the tower was one casualty of the power outage. The Department of Education said the meeting was cancelled. A board meeting set for Wednesday is currently still scheduled in the tower.
