FRANKFORT — Acting Labor Secretary Mark Brown of Brandenburg is resigning effective May 15 and will be replaced by union official Larry L. Roberts of Frankfort.
Brown is resigning to pursue other opportunities, Gov. Steve Beshear's office said in a release Friday.
Brown is a former state representative and Meade County judge-executive and served as deputy secretary of the Labor Cabinet before assuming the role of acting secretary in December 2010.
"I thank Secretary Brown for his service to the Labor Cabinet, and my administration," Beshear said. "Mark brought a union background and long years of public service experience to this important job. We appreciate his dedication and will miss him; we wish him well."
