WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell’s super political action committee (PAC) is returning fire on the Democratic National Committee (DNC) with web ads of its own.
After the DNC announced Wednesday it would run Google and twitter ads and robocalls in Kentucky to target McConnell and Sen. Rand Paul over the federal government shutdown, McConnell’s Super PAC, Kentuckians for Strong Leadership, said Thursday morning it is returning the favor.
Meanwhile, Democratic Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes is looking to capitalize on Kentuckians’ contempt for the ongoing federal government shutdown. Grimes’ campaign released a web ad on Thursday, shown first to the Lexington Herald-Leader, that closes by saying: “Enough is enough. Tell Sen. McConnell to end the government shutdown.”
