Incumbent Scott County Judge-Executive George Lusby won re-election Tuesday to the office he has held since 1990.
Lusby, 78, a Democrat, fended off a challenge from Republican Mike Bradley, 49, co-owner of a Stamping Ground grocery. The unofficial final tally was 8,736 votes for Lusby to 7,711 votes for Bradley.
"I was pleased, but I was surprised by the margin we won by," Lusby said. "People were pleased by how we've managed the finances of the county."
Republican registration in the county has increased from 12 percent in 1990 to 41 percent now. But Lusby said he had support from people in both parties.
