Bobby Meaux was remembered yesterday for his laughter, flirtatious nature and passion for sports. Cousin Curtis Dunn, who said a prayer during the funeral service at Harrodsburg Christian Church, said the family is still reeling.
"How much closure do you get with a closed casket?" asked Dunn. "But at least we know Bobby is resting."
Meaux, 31, of Lexington and formerly of Harrodsburg, was a sales representative who had worked for Galls Inc. for six years. He was traveling to New Orleans when Comair 5191 crashed last Sunday.
Mourners who filed into the church yesterday walked past a table adorned with pictures of Meaux through the years: a toddler sitting on a wooden stool, a youthful image of him flexing muscles, lots of pictures capturing a broad smile.

Friends and family also paid homage to Meaux's devotion to Florida State University and Pittsburgh Steelers football. Many wore black Steelers T-shirts atop more formal attire; a Seminoles banner draped the casket at Maple Grove Cemetery.
"All he did was talk sports 24/7," said Dunn.
