The National Transportation Safety Board said yesterday that it will release new information next week in its investigation of the crash of Comair Flight 5191 at Blue Grass Airport.
The NTSB, which has been investigating the Aug. 27 crash that claimed 49 lives, will open its public docket and release several reports Wednesday morning, according to a news release.
The material to be released in Washington will include investigative reports; interviews, including with the air traffic controller on duty; transcripts from the cockpit voice recorder and the air traffic controller communications; and other documents from the investigation.
Flight 5191 crashed into a farm field after taking off from the wrong runway at Blue Grass Airport. Only the plane's first officer survived.
