James Polehinke, 44, the co-pilot and sole survivor in the Comair Flight 5191 crash, underwent surgery yesterday to stabilize a spinal fracture, said University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital officials.
Trauma surgeon Dr. Andrew Bernard said in a news release that the procedure went as planned. Polehinke was in serious condition yesterday.
