Crash of Flight 5191

Kaye Morris loved to organize trips

Kaye Craig Morris wanted to watch whales off the Alaskan coast, so she organized a trip with her husband, Leslie Morris. The first leg of the trip was Flight 5191 from Lexington to Atlanta.

Kaye Morris loved to travel and loved to organize, and she did a lot of both activities, friends say.

“Kaye is a doer; she handled all that stuff,” said former Lexington Mayor Jim Amato, who, with his wife, traveled frequently with the Morrises. The two couples also lunched together nearly every Saturday.

This past Saturday, they’d met to talk about the Alaska trip, as well as a September trip to Italy that they planned to take together. They were going to start in Rome and then travel throughout Tuscany.

Kaye Morris was a Lexington native who went to Henry Clay High School and the University of Kentucky. She became a radiology nurse and worked at Massachusetts General in Boston, UK Medical Center and Samaritan Hospital, family friend Timothy Cone said.
