Mary Jane Silas was returning home to Columbus, Miss., Sunday after spending a few days in Kentucky helping her sister settle her late mother's estate, family and friends told the Associated Press.
Silas, 58, was one of 49 people killed in the crash of Comair Flight 5191.
Silas had worked in accounts payable for Logista, a technology management provider in Columbus, for more than six years.
Silas was very popular, and she was always baking a cake for somebody, said Ron Harper, president of Logista.
"She was very vibrant, a buoyant person," Harper said. "She always had a smile on her face. ... She's going to really be missed here."
Silas is survived by three sons and a sister.
