A man died and several others, including two children, were injured in a crash in Powell County Monday night.
James R. Gilliam, 30, of Clay City, died at the scene of a two-vehicle crash at the 22 mile marker on the Mountain Parkway that occurred at 7:29 p.m., according to state police.
Gilliam was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Xylina Barnett, 28, of Clay City.
State police said Barnett’s vehicle was westbound when it hit another westbound vehicle driven by Martricia Willis, 40, of Jackson.

Willis, Gerry Willis, 42, of Booneville, and one juvenile in the vehicle were taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, where they were in stable condition, state police said.
Another juvenile from the Willis vehicle, as well as Barnett, were taken to Clark Regional Medical Center.
