A pedestrian was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer Monday morning in Rockcastle County.
The accident occurred about 4:30 a.m., according to WKYT, six miles south of the southern Berea exit. Investigators said the pedestrian was attempting to cross the interstate.
The name of the man has not been released. Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement is investigating.
Traffic on the interstate was diverted to U.S.-25 after the accident, which backed up traffic for more than 20 miles. The interstate reopened shortly before 9 a.m., according to LEX 18 News.
