Man fatally shot during escalating argument in Casey County

A man was killed early Sunday morning in a shooting in Liberty, according to Kentucky State Police.

Thomas Robert Moser, 53, of Stanford had gone to a house on Cannon Road in Liberty where “his estranged girlfriend and others were working,” according to state police. While he was there, Moser got in an argument with Leonard Walls, 71, of Liberty.

The fight escalated and Moser reportedly threatened Walls, who then fired a shot, according to state police. Moser was struck in the chest and taken to a local hospital in Casey County where he died of his injuries, according to state police.

No arrests have been made in the case, but evidence will be taken to prosecutors, according to state police.
