Walmarts hit in Kentucky scam to help hurricane victims, police say

Three men scammed Kentucky Walmarts by claiming they were helping hurricane victims in Florida, according to the Oak Grove Police Department, which has asked for help identifying the culprits.

The men acted like they were part of a church group and were purchasing gift cards to send to hurricane victims, police said in a Facebook post.

The men obtained $5,500 in assorted gift cards and have hit every Walmart in its district, Oak Grove police said.
