A Henry County woman is accused of shooting her husband in the back of the head as he slept on Sunday night, according to court documents.
Tasha L. Bentley, 34, is facing charges of murder, tampering with evidence and possession of marijuana after her husband was found dead inside their Troutman Hill Road home over the weekend, according to court documents. Kentucky State Police say she’s accused of using her personal weapon, a silver Ruger with a purple grip, to kill 33-year-old Gary Bentley.
Tasha Bentley is also accused of removing about 20 guns from a gun safe in the house after the shooting in an attempt to make police think a robbery had occurred, according to court documents.
Tasha Bentley later told investigators that she and her husband had gotten into a fight before the shooting that night after he allegedly assaulted their four year old son by “throwing him in his bed and hitting the wall,” according to court documents. She told police that Gary Bentley kicked her when she tried to intervene.
