A man accused of stabbing a Whitley County man to death was arrested Tuesday after allegedly stabbing a second person, according to the county sheriff’s department.

Jeffrey Cole, 27, was arrested after “an exhaustive search,” according to the sheriff’s department.

Cole is accused of fatally stabbing Curtis Lawson, 55, of Siler, on Monday. Detectives learned that there was an altercation at Lawson’s home, and Cole stabbed him, according to the sheriff’s department.

Cole, who was considered armed and dangerous, was found near Sullivan’s Towing south of Williamsburg, according to the sheriff’s department.

Before Cole was arrested, a man was stabbed nearing the towing service and suffered injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening.
