A hiker who was missing for nearly two days in the Tom Dorman State Nature Preserve in Garrard County was found alive Friday, according to Garrard County police.
Jessica Burk, 40, was at a mobile police command unit early Friday, police said. She went missing Wednesday afternoon while hiking with her boyfriend.
Burk said she found her way out of the woods via a road Friday morning and went to a building in the preserve, the Associated Press reported.
After her reappearance, Burk told WKYT that she feels good.
“I got lost from my friend and my car and I don’t know where I’m at exactly,” she said. “I know I’m on earth and I feel good.”
Burk told LEX 18 she survived on a little bit of water and spending the nights in a deer stand.
