Sheriff wants to know how dog ended up in submerged crate in Kentucky creek.

A family swimming in a Kentucky creek found a dog in a crate in the water on Saturday.

The dog was dead when it was found, WKYT reported.

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office said the black and brown dog was found by a family at Basin Hole in Kinniconick Creek.

The sheriff has asked that anyone who recognizes the dog or knows how the cage came to be in the water call the sheriff’s office at 606-796-2912.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office shared information on Facebook about a dog that was found in a crate in a creek on Saturday.
