Police recaptured a prison inmate who had walked away from a work detail, according to Kentucky State Police.

John Parrott, 40, was arrested early Sunday near a house on KY 705 in Morgan County, police said.

Parrott was an inmate at the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex in West Liberty. He was outside the prison on a work detail when he fled, police reported Friday.

Police took Parrott to the Rowan County Detention Center in Morehead on Sunday. He will face charges of burglary, escape and being a persistent felony offender according to a news release from Kentucky State Police.

Parrott ‘s arrest record includes earlier charges of burglary, robbery, theft and and escape.
