FBI has no comment on search of tobacco warehouse in Mount Sterling

FBI agents searched a Mount Sterling tobacco warehouse on Wednesday, but a spokesman had no comment on the reason for the action.

“I can confirm that the FBI is conducting law enforcement activity in the area but cannot comment on ongoing investigations,” said David Habich, spokesman for the FBI’s Louisville office, in an email.

Kyle Edelen, spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Lexington, said in an email that “the only thing we can say at this time is it’s part of an ongoing investigation.”

The tobacco warehouse is owned by a company called Tobaccorp Inc. The Kentucky Secretary of State’s web site lists Roger A. Wilson of Mount Sterling as president and vice president of the company. A woman who answered the phone at Wilson’s home Wednesday night said he was not available for comment.
