Lexington motorcyclist leads state police on high-speed chase on I-64

A motorcyclist initiated a high-speed pursuit on Interstate 64 that led to Taser use and charges, Kentucky State Police said Tuesday.

Jordan T. Hammock, 20, of Lexington was seen speeding eastbound on his 2006 Suzuki near the Waddy exit in Shelby Countyabout 11:45 p.m. Monday, according to a state police news release.

Police pursued Hammock for about 15 miles until the motorcyclist lost control and wrecked while he attempted to take the Frankfort exit.

Hammock attempted to run but was stopped by a trooper using his Taser. Hammock was charged with two counts of fleeing and evading police; resisting arrest; possession of cocaine; carrying a concealed deadly weapon; wanton endangerment; and speeding, registration and insurance offenses.

Hammock, who also had Madison County warrants for his arrest, was taken to the Franklin County jail.
