Police in Laurel County charged a woman and her boyfriend with endangering the woman’s two girls after they were found wandering unattended at least a mile from their home, according to Sheriff John Root.
Deputies went to investigate after receiving a call at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday about the girls being outside a house 3 miles north of London.
The homeowner did not know the girls, who were ages 4 and 2, according to a news release.
The 2-year-old was not wearing any clothes.

The girls could not tell officers where they lived, so they had to search door to door for their home, said Deputy Gilbert Acciardo Jr., spokesman for Root’s office.
Police found the home after noon. The girls’ mother, Sarah Powell, 25, was asleep with her boyfriend; there was drug paraphernalia lying around, and the house was in deplorable condition, police said.
Police charged Powell and her boyfriend, Sean Bosch, 28, both of East Bernstadt, with endangering the welfare of a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia. The girls’ grandmother took them, Acciardo said.
