President Barack Obama on Thursday nominated a Kentucky Supreme Court justice to serve on the federal 6th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Justice Lisabeth Tabor Hughes, a Kentucky native, lives in Louisville. She has been on the Kentucky Supreme Court since 2007.
Hughes received her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Louisville. She is originally from Princeton, Ky.
“Justice Lisabeth Tabor Hughes has a long and impressive record of service and a history of handing down fair and judicious decisions,” Obama said in a news release. “She will be a thoughtful and distinguished addition to the Sixth Circuit, and I am extremely pleased to put her forward.”
