A woman was hospitalized after a stabbing in Cynthiana on Wednesday morning.
Police Chief Ray Johnson said no arrest was made immediately, but a “person of interest” had been interviewed by officers.
The stabbing was reported about 9:30 a.m. when officers were dispatched to a house on Pearl Street.
A woman came into the house and the resident told her to leave. “Apparently there were some words exchanged, and this person grabs a knife and stabs the person living in the residence three different times,” Johnson said.
The victim was stabbed in her left arm, neck, and either the abdomen or side, Johnson said.
The victim was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, where she underwent surgery.
