Crews work to recover body of Louisville man who drowned in Taylorsville Lake

A Louisville man drowned in Taylorsville Lake in Spencer County Sunday, but his body had not been recovered as of Monday night.

Zoran Jefetic, 48, went into the lake without a life jacket at Settlers Trace Marina and did not come back up on Sunday afternoon, according to a news release from state police.

Crews were called to the scene at 2:24 p.m. Sunday, but the recovery effort ended at 10:01 p.m. because it got dark, state police said.

On Monday, a sonar-equipped boat and divers from Spencer County and Louisville continued to search for the body without success, said Spencer County Coroner Danny Hilbert.

He said the search was to resume Tuesday.

Hilbert said Jefetic’s family was present when he drowned. Foul play is not suspected.

State police said the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife is in charge of the investigation.
