Kentucky State University football player Josh Williams was shot and killed Tuesday in Inglewood, Calif.
Williams, who lived in Inglewood, was a linebacker on the KSU roster, according to KSU’s website.
“KSU Athletics is deeply saddened by the loss of one of its own,” athletics director William Head said on the university’s website. “Another senseless act of violence silences a potential voice of leadership.”
Authorities are looking for the shooter, according to Los Angeles station ABC7. When police arrived about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday on South Van Ness Street, they found Williams with a single gunshot wound to his upper body.
