Investigators were looking Tuesday for a driver after a 10-year-old boy was killed in an apparent hit-and-run in Pulaski County.

The child was found unresponsive by deputies on Rock Lick Creek Road about 7:30 p.m. Monday, according to the sheriff’s office.

He was taken to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, where he later died, according to the sheriff’s office.

Sheriff Greg Speck says investigators are now trying to find the vehicle that hit the boy, the Associated Press reported. Deputies were going door to door talking to people who live along the road to see if anyone witnessed the crash.

Morris & Hislope Funeral Home said the child is Stanley Turner, of Science Hill. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
