A Georgia man was killed by a vehicle while he was walking Thursday evening on the interstate in Madison County.
Berea Police Department spokesman Lt. Jake Reed said the pedestrian was Artice Lee Davis, 64, of Rockmart, Georgia.
Davis was walking in the middle lane of I-75 near exit 77 in Berea around 11 p.m. Thursday evening when a driver hit him.
Davis died on impact and the driver, who is also from out-of-state, called in the accident, Reed said.
Police are still investigating why Davis was walking on the interstate. Police have no witnesses at this time.
Reed said criminal charges are not expected to be filed and police are still trying to locate Davis’ family.
