A crash in Boyle County early Thursday killed three people from Harrodsburg and injured a Danville man, state police said.

James Darland, 21, and two passengers, Brianna Coffman, 21, and Jacob Frick, 17, all died.

Darland was driving east on Faulkner Road in Boyle County about 4:30 a.m. He ran through a stop sign, drove off the road and hit a rock column at the intersection of Faulkner and Ky. 33. The vehicle then caught fire.

Trevor Thompson, 20, of Danville, was found outside the vehicle after the initial collision. He was moved away from the burning vehicle by a Boyle County resident, the state police said.

Thompson was taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center and later to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.

A public relations representative from Chandler Medical Center said Thompson is in fair condition.
