A Rowan County woman died Friday after being thrown from a motorcycle that collided with a car earlier this month in Morgan County.
Janet R. Caskey, 46, of Clearfield, was pronounced dead by the Cabell County Coroner in West Virgina, state police said. On the afternoon of Aug. 6, Caskey was a passenger on a motorcycle traveling south on Ky. 7. A GMC Envoy crossed the center line and collided with the motorcycle.
Caskey and the motorcyle’s driver, Thomas Tufts, 46, of Flemingsburg, were thrown from the motorcycle, state police said. He was pronounced dead on the scene by the Morgan County Coroner’s office.
Theresa Haney, 42, of Olive Hill, was identified as the Envoy’s driver, state police said. Haney and Caskey were both in critical condition and flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.
An investigation is ongoing, state police said.
