Double shooting in Columbia on Saturday under investigation

A double shooting about 1:18 a.m. Central Standard Time Saturday in Adair County is under investigation. According to Kentucky State Police, they found Christopher Janes, 22, lying in the yard of his home at 60 Burnett Road with a gunshot wound to the head. Upstairs in the house, Dustin Coomer, 22, of Columbia was found with a gunshot wound to the upper torso.

According to police, Janes shot Coomer after an argument before turning the gun on himself. Both men were taken to T.J. Sampson Westlake Hospital in Columbia before being flown by helicopter to the University of Louisville hospital. Late Sunday Coomer was listed in stable condition; Janes was listed in critical condition, according to state police.
