Man dies, two others injured in Harlan County crash

A man died and two people were injured in a crash in Harlan County on Thursday night.

Rostin Bray Jr., 68, of Cawood, was in a Ford Taurus on the southbound shoulder of U.S. 421 in the Neff community when he tried to make a U-turn across U.S. 421 to go north, according to state police.

Bray turned into the path of a southbound Dodge truck and was hit in the driver’s side of the vehicle just after 5:30 p.m.

Bray died in the emergency room at Harlan ARH Hospital, state police said.

The driver of the truck was not injured, but a passenger in his vehicle, Hobert Madewell, 58, of Harlan, and a passenger in Bray’s vehicle, Brian Green, 44, of Cawood, were injured and taken to Harlan ARH. Their conditions were not immediately available.
