Lexington woman to receive Sierra Club award

Lane Boldman of Lexington will receive the national Sierra Club's Susan E. Miller Award on Saturday.

She will be recognized as what the environmental organization calls "a tireless and constructive presence at various levels and numerous programs" since 1992.

Boldman was chairwoman of the Cumberland Chapter from 2002 to 2006, a period in which the club hired its first staff member and won a national fund-raising award. As chairwoman of the national Council of Club Leaders from 2005 to 2008, she was involved in increasing the organization's online efforts to reach a younger audience.

Boldman will receive her award at the club's annual dinner in San Francisco.
