A Mercer County woman died Tuesday inside her home that caught fire.
A little after 4 p.m., a family member came to the house on Sunset Drive in the Riverview subdivision west of Harrodsburg to discover there had been a fire inside the house. Firefighters and first responders found Kelly Harmon Isham, 44, dead in the living room, Mercer County Coroner Sonny Ransdell said.
It was not clear when the fire started, as neighbors could not recall smelling smoke during the day, Ransdell said.
The fire appeared to start in the hallway and smoke spread throughout the house. The fire's cause is under investigation, he said.
Foul play is not suspected. It appeared that Isham died of smoke inhalation. An autopsy is schedule for Wednesday in Frankfort, Ransdell said.
