Ky. troopers, Guard members to aid inauguration

Kentucky State Police and the Kentucky National Guard will travel to Washington, D.C., to support security efforts for the 56th presidential inauguration.

Forty troopers, representing all 16 state police posts, will help with traffic and crowd control and security at various gala events.

"It is a great honor to be selected for this duty," said Lt. Col. Mike Sapp, state police director of operations.

The Kentucky Army and Air National Guards will send officers and equipment to the inauguration, which will be Tuesday.
