Fayette prison escapee caught in Owensboro

Owensboro police nabbed an escaped convict Saturday, who had been on the lam for nearly a month after breaking out of the Blackburn Correctional Complex in Fayette County.

Charles Ray Locke was in the early stretch of a 70-year sentence for a string of 12 burglaries in Daviess County when he was reported missing about 8:30 p.m. Jan. 17. The Owensboro police caught up with Locke, 53, shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday in downtown Owensboro.

Locke would have been eligible for parole in October 2012.
