1 dead, 5 hurt in Pulaski Co. crash

SOMERSET — A Somerset woman died and five people were injured when a van and pickup truck collided on U.S. 27 in Pulaski County late Saturday.

The van, driven by Derk Howard, 41, of Burnside, was heading west on Tateville Antioch Road and crossed into the path of the pickup, which was heading south on U.S. 27 at about 10:30 p.m., according to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department.

The passenger, Dee Gregory, 43, of Somerset, was taken to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset where she was pronounced dead.

Howard was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

The driver of the Ford pickup, Timmy J. Burke of Stearns, and three passengers were taken to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
