A Danville man was arrested Monday night after filing multiple shots at police officers from inside his home.
Police were called to the home of Elton C. Chambers, 60, at 6:25 p.m. after a report of a man who was intoxicated and threatening to harm himself.
When they got to the residence, 1021 Nokomis Street, police said Chambers was holding a handgun and threatened to shoot them.
As officers retreated and called for backup, Chambers, who was still inside the residence, fired about 20 rounds through the door with an assault rifle, according to a press release.
