Body was man missing since March

A body found Saturday evening in Town Branch Creek has been confirmed to be that of Darryl Wayne Dotson, 38, who had been missing since March.

"Circumstantial and associated evidence along with personal effects" led to the determination, according to a press release from the Fayette County coroner's office.

An autopsy was conducted Tuesday, but DNA testing will have to be conducted to scientifically confirm the identity.

The coroner's office said it will be impossible to determine the cause of death without more remains being found, because what was found was not complete and was skeletonized.

A security worker on Donamire Farm found the remains in the creek on a remote portion of the farm, which is located on Old Frankfort Pike.

Dotson's home is near the creek, farther downstream in the McConnells Trace subdivision.

His wife, Kim Dotson, said he had been out walking on a trail near the creek before he went missing.

Searchers and cadaver dogs searched the creek Saturday for more remains but found only a sock and coat.

Kim Dotson said in an interview Monday evening that she thought the body was probably that of her husband.

Darryl Dotson had worked for nearly five years as an investment officer at Farmers National Bank in Danville, but he resigned late last year and started a Web site.
