Two men died in a fiery crash on the Hal Rogers Parkway in Clay County on Monday afternoon.
Just before 3 p.m., a Dodge pickup was headed east on the parkway about 3 miles east of Manchester when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a westbound tractor-trailer tanker truck, said Trooper Don Trosper of the Kentucky State Police.
The tanker truck was not hauling fuel at the time, but both vehicles became engulfed in flames.
Both drivers died, Trosper said. He said officials have not yet determined their identities.
The parkway was closed between the exits at mile marker 20 and 34 as of 7:30 p.m. Monday.
