Corbin shooting leaves one dead

One man is dead and another has been charged with murder after a shooting at a restaurant in Corbin Friday night.

Todd Carter, 38, of Woodbine was shot in the chest by Larry Wilson, 55, of Williamsburg at the Rootbeer Stand at 129 18th Street at about 9:50 p.m., according to a press release from the Corbin Police Department.

Police said the two men had been in an altercation next to Wilson's tow truck when the shooting took place. In addition to the shot that hit Carter, police said another shot was fired that hit a car parked next to the men and just missed a young girl.

Wilson has been charged with murder and wanton endangerment and was taken to the Whitley County Detention Center.
