Preacher sought in rape turns himself in

A Logan County preacher wanted in connection with the rape of a 13-year-old girl turned himself in to police early Sunday, a television station in Bowling Green reported.

WBKO-TV said that the FBI now is involved in the case, and that police think Jody Lusk, 35, faked his own disappearance.

Lusk is the minister of Auburn Church of Christ.

Police had earlier said that he picked up the girl after school Friday afternoon and brought her home Saturday afternoon.

He had told his wife Friday he was going fishing, then sent her a text message with a license plate number and the words "Briggs Lake," according to the Logan County sheriff's department.

Police found Lusk's empty canoe at the lake, and searched for him using cameras and sonar equipment Saturday morning.
