Gun fired at Jackson Co. police dispatcher

A McKee man was arrested Saturday night after a shooting at the Jackson County Central Dispatch Center on McCammon Ridge Road.

According to Kentucky State Police, a single gunshot was fired through a window of the dispatch center, narrowly missing on-duty dispatcher Millie Madden, about 1 a.m. Saturday. After an investigation, Vernon Adkins, 33, was arrested on charges of criminal murder attempt and tampering with physical evidence. He was being held at the Jackson County Detention Center.
