Mount Sterling woman is hit and killed while trying to cross road

A Mount Sterling woman was killed Wednesday while trying to cross a road in Leslie County, state police said.

Pennie Rogers, 48, was trying to cross U.S. 421 at Ky. 406 in Stinnett at 10:25 p.m. when she was hit by a car driven by Roger Bowling of Stinnett.

Bowling was treated at Mary Breckinridge Hospital and released. An investigation was continuing Thursday.
