Police make arrest in Pike Co. murder case

Kentucky State Police have arrested the uncle of a 30-year-old Regina woman who was murdered early Saturday morning.

Police were called to Frankie Fork Road in Regina around 7:30 a.m. Saturday in reference to the shooting death of Rachel Lee Ratliff, 30. When police arrived they found David Joe Ratliff, 49, Rachel Ratliff's uncle, trying to leave the back door of his Frankie Fork Road home.

David Ratliff was armed with a 9 millimeter semi-automatic handgun at the time of his arrest, police said.

Pike County Deputy Coroner Denver Bailey pronounced Rachel Ratliff dead at the scene. The case is still under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
