Man is shot in Frankfort

A man was shot outside his home in Frankfort Tuesday night.

Police who were called to 926 Holmes Street at 6:27 p.m. found a 36-year-old man who had been shot with a handgun.

The man, whose identity had not been released late Tuesday, was taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center. His condition was unknown, said Major Fred Deaton of the Frankfort Police Department.

Deaton said police were questioning several witnesses, as well as a "person of interest," but no arrests had been made as of 11:30 p.m.

Deaton said the shooting occurred outside the house, which is divided into apartments. He said the man who was shot had either recently moved in or was still in the process of moving in.

"There was some sort of altercation," Deaton said. "What that entailed or what that involved, we're still trying to sort out."
