Man indicted on child-porn charges

A registered sex offender from Tennessee was indicted Friday for possession of child pornography in Marion County.

Sherman Pike, 45, was indicted on four counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor and one count of being a persistent felony offender, a news release from the Kentucky attorney general said.

Pike was arrested on Feb. 1 by the attorney general's Cybercrimes Unit, the Marion County Sheriff's department and Lebanon police after about four months of investigation, the release said.

In 1991, Pike was convicted in Tennessee of aggravated sexual battery involving a 10-year-old girl. He is jailed on a $200,000 cash bond and will be arraigned in Marion Circuit Court on March 29.
