Friday is the final day that Kentuckians may return the 2010 U.S. Census form in the post-paid envelope provided by the government.
If the Friday deadline is missed, households should expect a census taker to follow up to gather data with an at-home visit some time in May, June and into July. As of Thursday, 69 percent of households in Kentucky had returned their forms, matching the state's mail participation rate for Census 2000. That return rate is slightly ahead of the national rate of 67 percent. A "Be Counted" census form can still be obtained by visiting a Be Counted or questionnaire assistance center.
