DNA testing to determine identity of remains found in Pulaski County

Skeletal remains and some clothing were found under a rock ledge in a wooded part of eastern Pulaski County on Sunday, said Pulaski County Coroner Richard New.

New said the remains have been sent to the state medical examiner's office. It could be months before the person's identity is known, because DNA testing will be required.

The remains might be those of Leroy Price, who was 54 years old when he went missing from his Pulaski County home seven years ago.

"We have a suspicion that it's possibly going to be him," New said. "The clothing description and so on matches."

New said Price lived 3 or 4 miles from where the remains were found and enjoyed walking in the woods.

"It would have been a familiar area," he said.
