2 arrested in 2006 Russell Co. murder

Two men were indicted Tuesday in relation to a three-year-old Russell County murder case.

A Russell County grand jury indicted Steven W. Williams, 52, of Russell Springs, and Danny Hill, 45, of Jamestown, in connection with the murder of Paul Montgomery, state police said.

In December 2006, a relative found Montgomery, 41, at his home on Ky. 1058 about 10 miles south of Jamestown.

Williams was indicted for murder and tampering with physical evidence, and Hill was indicted for complicity to commit murder and tampering with physical evidence, state police said.

Williams was already being held in the Warren County Regional Detention Center on federal drug charges. Hill was arrested at his home Tuesday afternoon and taken to the Russell County Jail.

State police said new information had led them to witnesses and evidence in the case.
